penang

After arriving in Penang Island, I immediately felt how unique and important this place is in Malaysia’s cultural landscape. The heart of the island is George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its charming colonial streets and especially its street art murals. Walking around and spotting these creative graffiti pieces felt like exploring an open-air gallery.

I also tried some amazing local food — including Kacang Tumbuk (a traditional peanut candy) and a dessert made with coconut milk and little green jelly-like strands. That dessert is called Cendol, and it’s one of Penang’s most famous sweet treats. Refreshing and delicious!

I spent some time at the Penang Botanic Gardens, enjoying the greenery and tropical plants. Later, I went up to Penang Hill, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the coastline. From up there, I could really appreciate the beauty of the island and captured some great photos.
