mostar
From Sarajevo, I continued my journey to Mostar, a city famous for its iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge). The bridge, originally built in the 16th century during the Ottoman period, is a symbol of the city’s resilience and history. Walking across it, I was mesmerized by its elegant arch reflecting perfectly in the Neretva River below. I also watched local divers perform daring jumps from the bridge into the turquoise waters—an exhilarating tradition that has been maintained for generations.
For the first time in my life, I climbed a minaret here. From the top, the panoramic view of Mostar—the bridge, the red-roofed old town, and the river cutting through—was unforgettable. The combination of history, architecture, and the lively city below made it a truly unique experience.
That evening, I had dinner right under the bridge, enjoying the ambiance as the lights reflected off the water. Seeing the bridge and the city’s silhouette illuminated at night was magical, a memory I will carry with me forever.
