malmö
Malmö, Sweden’s third-largest city, is a calm and welcoming destination that combines modern architecture with historical landmarks and green spaces. Located just across the Øresund Bridge from Copenhagen, the city offers a unique mix of cultures and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it pleasant to explore on foot.
Our visit began with the iconic Øresund Bridge, the impressive link between Denmark and Sweden, which we later photographed from the Stenstrand Observation Deck. In Malmö, one of the highlights was the Turning Torso, Scandinavia’s tallest building and a striking piece of modern architecture.
We then visited Malmö Castle and enjoyed the surrounding parks, where history blends with nature. The Malmö City Library stood out with its elegant design and atmosphere, making it one of the city’s cultural gems. The Malmö Old Cemetery offered a quiet and reflective space, adding to the serene character of the city.
Among the unique spots was Apoteket Lejonet, one of Malmö’s historic pharmacies, known for its ornate architecture and long tradition of serving the community. We also came across the playful sculptures of the Optimistorkestern (Optimistic Orchestra), which bring a touch of humor and charm to the city streets.
Finally, we spent time in the central square, where the Charles X Gustav sculpture stands, surrounded by the lively yet tranquil setting of Malmö’s city life.
Overall, Malmö impressed us with its balance of history, culture, and modern design, all within a calm and harmonious urban environment.
