florence
After my first trip to Rome, I continued on to Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance. At night, the city revealed a special charm — I stumbled upon the famous carousel in Piazza della Repubblica, glowing beautifully in the heart of Florence. Walking further, I crossed the Trinity Bridge and admired the timeless Ponte Vecchio, with its line of jewelers’ shops that have been a symbol of the city’s craftsmanship for centuries.
During the day, I explored Florence’s gardens, first the Giardino Bardini, a quiet and elegant retreat with panoramic views over the city, and then the more expansive Boboli Gardens, which felt like stepping back into a Medici vision of nature and art combined. Of course, no visit to Florence is complete without entering the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. I photographed its magnificent Dome designed by Brunelleschi, one of the greatest architectural achievements of the Renaissance, which still dominates the skyline today.
Florence was also part of my wider journey through Tuscany, and visiting the city gave me the perfect gateway into the region’s landscapes, culture, and art.
