Tennis

I am an active and licensed tennis coach and a master-level player. Although I started playing tennis recently, my prior interest in racket sports motivated me to improve quickly, and I’ve already reached an advanced level. I see tennis as a lifelong passion, a sport I want to be deeply connected with for years to come. Tennis is a sport I wish I had learned when I was a kid.I currently participate in official and local tournaments, focusing on improving my balance, footwork, and technique. I teach students of all ages through both private and group lessons, and I truly enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion for the sport with them.

Football

I started playing football as a child, driven by an amateur passion, with friends from school in the garden of our home. Since those early days, I’ve never given up on the sport and have always stayed involved. In my early 20s, I played amateur football with Saçakspor, which deepened my love for team sports.
Today, we keep this tradition alive with weekly games on Fridays, where around 40 friends from the neighborhood—including old classmates and family friends—gather to play. Each week, we need 14 players, with two teams of seven. Everyone interested in joining writes in our WhatsApp group, and we then select captains. If a captain wins five matches in a row, they earn a prize, adding some friendly competition to our games.

I also collect data from each match, analyzing it weekly using Power Query and presenting the results in Power BI. The data updates automatically every week, allowing me to track our progress and performance trends. In the near future, I hope to publish these football statistics for our community, Esat AŞ, showcasing the competitive spirit and camaraderie within our group.

Table Tennis

I started playing table tennis at the beginning of my university life. A friend of mine, a former national table tennis player, trained me, and we enjoyed playing together. During every class break, we would head down to the basement of our campus building to practice and refine our techniques. Over time, I joined local tournaments and even won some of them. However, after graduation, my passion for the game gradually faded. Although I still play occasionally, I’ve become less interested in table tennis recently, as it affects my tennis technique.

American Football

During my time at university, there wasn’t an American football club, so some of my teammates decided to establish one. They invited me to join, and I became part of the team as we worked hard to build it from the ground up, despite a very limited budget. We reached out to Bilkent University, which helped by selecting a few players from our team for training and practice matches. I was fortunate to be among those chosen.
I played as a running back due to my speed—I was the fastest player on the team. Although we trained extensively and had a great time, unfortunately, some issues arose after just one season, and my teammates and I never got the chance to play in an official match. Nevertheless, I found the sport incredibly enjoyable, and the training sessions remain a cherished memory.

Billiards

I usually play American pool in billiards. I started playing with my brother, although I can’t remember exactly when. Over time, it became an enjoyable hobby for me.”It is a sport that embodies soothing silence and tranquility. It also incorporates geometry and strategy, making it both relaxing and intellectually stimulating. Playing with friends, especially during tournaments, makes it even more enjoyable.

Other Sports

I try to swim at least four times a month. I taught myself freestyle with the help of professional YouTube channels and can now swim proficiently. My next goal is to learn the butterfly stroke, which I believe will be a great way to strengthen my core muscles. Another racket sport I briefly explored was squash—a challenging game that requires both technique and endurance.
After watching The Queen’s Gambit, I became more interested in chess and worked hard to improve my skills; I’d say I’m now at an upper-intermediate level. Although I’m not particularly tall, I’m skilled at basketball as well.
Recently, I’ve been experiencing some aches while playing these sports, so I plan to get back into fitness training and running sessions to support my overall physical health.
